TMD Diagnosis & Treatment
Temporomandibular joint disease (TMD) is a debilitating dysfunction of the jaw joint aggravated by trauma such as whiplash, over usage, poor movement patterns, teeth grinding, and emotional stress. The actual malfunction may involve ligaments,
muscles or bone.
Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) is a condition characterized by a combination of various symptoms, including headaches, toothaches, earaches, dizziness, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), clicking and popping of the jaw, difficulty opening or closing the jaw, neck pain, and facial pain.

The treatment approach involves an in-depth medical history, comprehensive examination, x-rays, and impressions of the upper and lower teeth. An individually customized mouth splint is then designed to help the muscles and joints return to their optimal position and function.
